What is Computer Networking Topology and what are the basics of Bus, Ring, Star, Mesh, Tree and Hybrid Topology .

What are the different types of Computer Networking Topology. Understanding of Bus, Ring, Star, Mesh and Hybrid Topology.

A network is widely said, the interconnection of a LAN to millions of other network in the internet. Topology is the arrangement two or more networking elements like computers, laptop, hub etc. Physical as well as logical paths are the concern of Network topology.
There are five numbers topologies most popular and effective.
These are as follows:

1) Bus Topology. 2) Ring Topology. 3) Mesh Topology. 4) Star Topology. 5) Tree or Hybrid Topology.

Now we briefly discuss each of the topology with the illustration for a better understanding. Off course each of the connection has some merits & demerits.

BUS Topology-MDWIX
Bus Topology: According to the arrangements the most simple and cheap connection is the Bus Topology. A single backbone cord by which all the nodes are connected is called the bus. Data received through any hub and passes through the bus and send data to all hub connected to the bus. This is cheap but non secure connection.

Ring Topology-MDWIX
Ring Topology: The nodes in this this pattern are connected by either sides to form a circle. Thus data is passing in a single direction either clockwise or anti- clockwise. This is not a reliable and secure connectivity. It is a rare use pattern.

Mesh Topology-MDWIX
Mesh Topology:
In this connectivity each of the communicating device is connected to each of the other device. Simultaneously the multiple node can transfer huge amount data. This topology is more secure than that of the other topologies.

Star Topology
Star Topology:
This is centrally connected structure. All the nodes are connected to a central node.
It is considered as the most secure connection. Any defect in the peripheral node does not effect the other network but the failure in the central device can collapse the entire network.

Hybrid Topology-MDWIX
Tree or Hybrid Topology:
 This is the combined network
of the basic topologies such as Bus, Ring, Star and Mesh by different combination. It is more versatile, secure and reliable since having multiple option to data transfer.
